Post-occupancy evaluation is about understanding the impact of an environment in use. This can include determining how users perceive and use the environment, analysing whether the environment in use meets the brief, and assessing the performance of the building in objective terms, e.g. energy use.
We have extensive experience of carrying out post-occupancy evaluations and have worked with national advisory organisations and national government to help shape a model for post-occupancy evaluation in a number of sectors.
We use a range of tools including interviews, questionnaires, workshops and environmental monitoring. This provides an understanding of the environment in use and provides evidence for recommendations.
