Northern Education, Academy sponsors, appointed Performance Consultancy to lead student participation in the development of a brief for the school’s new facilities.
A full day of workshops for students was developed and facilitated.
In the workshops students created large mood boards based on their aspirations for the new Academy environment, focusing on learning spaces, social and dining spaces, external spaces and identity. Students were also asked to consider how the new school might impact on key issues including sustainability, health and well being and community involvement.
The results of discussions and activities in the workshops were captured and used to inform the development of the brief for the new Academy facilities.
